Service listings, bookings, product sales, and connections between pet owners all had a place in Pettoo's backend. I designed its schema and core business logic with FastAPI and PostgreSQL, keeping products and services in the same data model rather than treating them as separate systems.

Search was one part of that work where the simpler option was not enough. Pet owners needed to find what they were looking for, and SQL ILIKE queries could not cover the discovery needs. I added Elasticsearch, accepting the extra operational work that came with another service to run.

I also set up CI/CD and container deployments on GCP. Alongside the implementation, I coordinated a team of three, with attention to keeping the APIs consistent in both shape and quality.
